Advocating for HIV Awareness
Empowering Voices and Breaking Barriers
Established In 2019, this enduring project was created as a documentary portraiture project dedicated to individuals living with HIV. This venture stems from a deep-seated aspiration to provide a platform for these individuals to narrate their experiences with HIV. The primary goal is to dismantle the prevailing stigma and discrimination associated with the virus while concurrently educating those with limited understanding. Through my endeavours, I aim to foster a more compassionate and well-informed perspective on HIV within our society.
Connecting Hearts, Sharing Stories: Bridging the Gap on HIV
Meet these awesome People
I personally met and spent time with each individual featured here, as they generously shared their precious time to convey their personal stories related to HIV.
Support the production of this documentary
Until now, I’ve financed all aspects of this project, including extensive journeys to meet individuals who generously shared their stories with me. Recognising the immense responsibility to these individuals, I am committed to bringing visibility and production quality to this project. To further support this endeavour, I have established a fundraising page on GoFundMe and am actively seeking sponsors to contribute to the production costs associated with both a photographic exhibition and the creation of a book. Your sponsorship would not only make this vision a reality but also play a vital role in amplifying the voices and stories of those living with HIV, fostering awareness and understanding. If you or your organisation are passionate about supporting this cause, I invite you to join me in making a meaningful impact through this project.
A note of appreciation and gratitude
I want to express my deepest gratitude to EATG and RIBBON for their incredible support during the AIDS 2024 conference. Your generosity allowed me to exhibit 17 portraits from my ongoing documentary, People Living with HIV, in the Silver Zone at the Global Village. These portraits sparked meaningful dialogues, with attendees praising the natural portrayal for its powerful reflection of our shared humanity. It was a profoundly moving experience.
