Since founding the House of Magdalena in 2015, she has been a transformative force, shaping and nurturing the ballroom scene in Mexico. In 2018, Isis Magdalena’s journey took a profound turn when she was diagnosed with HIV. This personal challenge ignited a powerful mission within her: to promote sex positivity and dismantle the stigma surrounding people living with HIV (PLHIV). Through art, ballroom events, protests, and international conferences, she has tirelessly championed this cause. Her impactful speech at the International AIDS Conference and her innovative “Sex Siren” classes underscore her dedication to helping PLHIV reconnect with their sensuality and self-worth.
Isis Magdalena’s influence reaches far beyond the ballroom. She collaborates with esteemed organisations like MPact Global, Colectivo Antirracista, and Inspira Cambio, fighting relentlessly against serophobia, transfobia, and racism.
