Stephan Vernhes is a remarkable individual from France who has shown unwavering dedication in sexual health, HIV, hepatitis C, STIs, and addiction for over the past decade. His journey and expertise have shaped him into a valuable asset to the community.

Proficient in both English and French, Stephan has not only lived with HIV for 23 years but has also been actively involved in community health initiatives. For five years, he served as the head of a community sexual health centre, which focused on supporting MSM (men who have sex with men), transgender individuals, and sex workers. In this role, he led a team comprising two employees and approximately ten volunteers, working tirelessly to positively impact the lives of those affected by HIV and related issues among them problematic chemsex.

Stephan’s academic background is equally impressive. With a degree in econometrics, he began his career in market research, marketing studies, and surveys. His work spanned various projects, encompassing national and international studies, and involved multiple methodologies.

2013 Stephan significantly transitioned, redirecting his career towards a non-governmental organisation dedicated to HIV/AIDS. He began as a volunteer and gradually ascended to the role of an employee within AIDES, the primary organization combatting HIV/AIDS in France.

Stephan Vernhes’s journey is a testament to his unwavering commitment to public health and community well-being. His wealth of experience and his connection to the cause have made him an invaluable figure in the fight against HIV/AIDS and related health issues in France.
